Relation between Matrix and Plato's cave myth

These lasts weeks, we have been searching and watching videos, films... dealing with this topic which is is very popular.

In Plato's cave myth we are taught that "slaves", who are the human, live "prisioners in a cave".
In Matrix, one of the scenes takes part when Neo wakes up from his "false life", settled on a capsule and he is all surrounded by people "still asleep".
So therefore, the actual meaning we get of this, is that living in the cavern/ capsule, means that we are all ignorants, unaware of the real life. And if we were given the chance to open our mind to the realitity, we would likely deny it and turn back to our fake life, that's the reason why we need one person willing to escape from this ignorance or lie.

It's a fact that almost any of the people would like to go out from the cavern and get to know the real life just as it is, because as we can imagine, it wouldn't be an easy mission. We might feel frightened in regards to the unknown new world. And that's the thing, we don't only suffer when chosing the decision we want to take; the problem comes then, by the time you have to open your eyes and start looking at the things differently.

Another good point we should underline could be: once we are already out of the cavern and we have get used to the things that encircles us, adquiring knowledge and developing new skills little by little, then we know we are getting closer to the real world. Now, the only thing left to do is to understand it...

The last step we are ought to do is to decide what to do with all the knowledge we have. For example, in Neo's case, he decides to share the truth he has been showed with the entire humanity in order to convince them that the quote "ignorance gives us the happiness" is not true. We can only get the freedom through the knowledge. The happiness is only reached when you start accepting life right as it is, anhd despite of its injustices, you realise it's beatiful and you begin living your life, with the people you love and doing the things that makes you be happy.
